15 v max .15 amp solar cells to charge AA batteries?

K. I have four 15 amp 15V Solar Modules. My question is: Because even in these parallel cells are weak I can charge AA batteries instead of a 12 volt battery? If so, how? I tested this morning cells, and each module shows approximately 9 V although at its peak could get say 15 volts. I'm going to sit in a laptop bag of age, because glass is fragile and suspect. Thanks

silicon solar cells are essentially current sources (to its maximum output voltage), so it could connect a panel of 15 V at a 1.2 volt NiCd battery and is charged at 150 mA, or connect to a lead-acid battery of 12 volts and the load of 150 mA (approximately). It would take all day, maybe two days, to charge a AA battery in this way. And you want to disconnect the batteries when they arrived fully charged (when they start to come into heat). Note that since the panel is a power source, you can charge 8, 9, 10, even 11 seies AA batteries. Might as well get your money worth from the panel. NiMH batteries do not charge pulse very well in this way - they need to load - but you can get some recharge from the solar panel.
